We made a special purchase of the remaining old stock of our suppliers Handtinted Religious Images. These were handtinted in the 1960's and 1970's on photography stock but in postcard size. Originally these were made to be sold at a shrine in Mexico City. The variety is large and if you are interested in an unusual assortment of beautiful religious images, these are for you.

I tried to sort these by category, but there are just so many! These are approximately 3 1/4" x 5 1/4", and they are all really lovely. Some are hand-tinted. There are pictures of women, men, couples, children and flowers, all from the 1920's. The cards pictured are not necessarily available, just a sample of the type of photos you will receive.

Shucks, these are cute. I'd say these playing cards are from the late 40's or early 50's.

This playing card has a picture of an amazing art nouveau-looking vase/bowl thing on it. At the bottom of the card, it says "Cellini" in very tiny letters, hence the name.

This cute 50's card has two adorable elephants with flowers behind them, but the coolest part is the corner that looks like it's folded. This is one snazzy card!

Why so sad, lil' kitty?

These cards feature The Fort Harrison Hotel (hence the name) of Clearwater, Florida. A quick Google search tells me that the hotel was built in 1926 and is now owned by the Church Of Scientology. Huh. Well, in any case, these cards have a 1930's look to them.

Gobelins was a Parisian tapestry company that dates to the 15th century. I'm not sure how or if this card relates to them...it also refers to the area of Paris near the factory and lately, the metro station. Life's mysteries. Anywho, this card has a beautiful floral still life on it, and it says "Gobelins" in very small print at the bottom.

These cards have "fascinating facts" and mini quizzes printed on them. They are from 1884, so don't expect much recent history, but that's what makes them so fun. They've got that great, old-fashioned look.

This cute dog resembles Laura's Bichon Frise, Lucy, so she named the card after her.

I have a large assortment of these 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" black & white, hand tinted photos. They are from the late 50's and early 60's, I'd guess....back from the day where having some meat on your bones was a good thing! All of these lovely ladies are wearing bathing suits or some sort of (tiny) garment...no nudies. The cards pictured are not neccesarily available. Here we have your standard sized playing card, jazzed up a bit with a cute chickadee on a peach background. These little guys spend the day hopping around the yard here at SKS headquarters...cute!

Measuring about 11 1/4" wide, this paper is from vintage player piano rolls.There are lots of punched out dots and lines in it, and some have words or lines printed on them. This paper is very thin and delicate and works well in collage.

This standard size card features an idyllic scene. I would like to move into this cute lil' cottage.

Measuring 2" high, this full color image has a metallic gold halo.

These were used once upon a time for sending coins through the mail. Imagine what you could do with them by removing the cardboard tabs and filling the round spaces with images...many fantastic possibilities for altering and layering the surface... They are 3 1/4" x 5" and come 3 to a set.

These 8 1/2" x 11" sheets each have 33 1"x2 13/16" gummed labels.These were originally made for using in a typewriter or mimeograph machine, but you can also use them create your own faux postage or labels by stamping and decorating them to your liking.
